The IP Address of your computer is the unique network address used to identify it to other computers or network devices on the network (either wired or WiFi).
Step-by-step guide
To find your local IP Address
- Click on the Windows start menu and type CMD. Press the Enter Key.
- In the black Command Prompt window, type ipconfig and press the enter key.
- Look for the entry that begins IPv4 Address - the IP address will be four numbers separated by dots (eg 10.0.2.15) in the picture below.
You may have more than one IP address; eg if you are connected to a WiFi network and a Wired Network, or if you are using a VPN.
